Health insurers Cigna and United Health Group stepped out to reassure a market hell-bent on punishing the entire sector in response to profit warnings from Wellpoint and Humana.
CI (+3.1%) reiterated guidance for 2008. UNH (-4.1%) says that they may experience pressure in Q1 and 2008, but that it was too early to draw that conclusion.
